Speaker 1:

Welcome, welcome everybody to the Beauty of Breathing podcast. We're here with the incredible Becky Chambers. We're going to be talking about whole body vibration today. I'm going to go ahead and introduce Becky to you guys. So Becky Chambers is a natural health practitioner, teacher, author and president and owner of Vibrant Health, where she specializes in the breakthrough body, mind and energy therapies of whole body vibration and homeopathy. Becky Chambers is a leading expert in whole body vibration, with 25 years of experience using and promoting it worldwide as an exercise and therapeutic system. She has written five books about whole body vibration, including the best-selling book on this subject since it was released in 2013, whole Body Vibration the Future of Good Health.

Speaker 1:

A second edition, released in January 2024, brings you the latest developments, new research, new benefits and advances in the technology that whole body vibration, which is accessible for everyone. Becky Chambers has a Bachelor's of science degree from the University of Massachusetts, a master's in education from Lesley College and a doctor of naturopathy degree from Clayton College of Natural Health. All righty, everybody, send us your questions. I have tons of questions that you guys already sent to us, so we are going to go ahead and start, but first of all, before we get going, becky, I would love for you to tell everybody a little bit of who you are and how you came about. Whole body vibration.

Speaker 2:

Okay, well, so first I want to say thank you so much for having me here, renetta.

Speaker 2:

That's, it's wonderful, I'm thrilled.

Speaker 2:

And I have been doing whole body vibration for 25 years, which makes me one of the longest people doing it in the US certainly the longest east of the Mississippi and or in the northeast and I got into it because I was really ill.

Speaker 2:

I spent most of my life trying to get better, was sick from when I was a kid, and in my 20s I started trying alternative natural health approaches and they turned out to be way better for the most part for my problems, and around age 30 or so I found whole body vibration and I just saw that I was suddenly getting. It was making a huge impact because I was already doing for 10 years like lots of nutrition things and I was even doing powerful energy medicine called homeopathy and all kinds of dietary stuff and supplements and all kinds of stuff and, of course, exercise. But adding whole body vibration had a massive effect and I just woke up the next day and was like, whoa, I have found what I'm going to be doing, cause I wanted to be in natural health but I wanted something that was really I could feel like was just really going to make a difference. And I already one session and I noticed a big change in my immune system.

Speaker 2:

Wow, which was where my problems were really. It was awful. I was just allergic to everything on the planet. I had chemical sensitivities. I couldn't go anywhere. I couldn't eat anything. I had lost like 100 pounds. It was just insane.

Speaker 1:

Wow, it was terrible, yeah. So where were you when you?

Speaker 2:

first when was I?

Speaker 1:

Yes, when you first heard about Hobite Vibration.

Speaker 2:

Okay, well, I had been working with a doctor in California for a good 10 years and he was keeping me alive, which nobody else could do. Even do that I wasn't going to make it without him, and he was all natural but a medical doctor and very energy oriented also, so he was so awesome I didn't even have to go there. Most of the times we would just talk on the phone and he would be able to help me. And he was, you know, california whole body vibration started in Russia close to 50 years ago now, moved into Europe when the iron curtain came down and then eventually hit California in the early 2000s. And so then my doctor saw it and realized at that time it had been originally developed for Olympic athletes and cosmonauts because it's great for your muscles, muscle development, strength, physical therapy and bone density. But he realized like almost immediately, and it was thought of as athletic equipment.

Speaker 2:

And it is an exercise, but it is vastly more than that. It is just body, mind and spirit huge effect on every system in your body. The vibration you stand on a plate which is physically vibrating, and the vibration travels through your whole body, every cell, every organ, every neuron is firing, shooting signals into your brain. That just lights up and ends up working very powerfully body, mind and spirit and a lot of people will notice a difference right away. It's just a very powerful effect.

Speaker 1:

So that's how I got started, perfect, so let's go through some of the questions that we have over here. This is a very specific question what is the recommended amount of time to use plate for lymph drainage?

Speaker 2:

Lymph drainage. Okay. So it is fantastic for lymph drainage and it is quite popular and well-known and people are searching for it because of that. And it does work that way very powerfully, because every muscle fiber in your body is going to be tensing and relaxing when you're standing, just automatically. You don't even have to exercise. You just stand on the plate and all your muscle fibers are going to tense and relax the same rate.

Speaker 2:

The machine is vibrating, right, well, your lymphatic system works by muscle fibers, muscles tightening and relaxing around your lymphatic system vessels and forcing the fluid through. It doesn't have a pump. The muscles are the pumps, right, okay? And so there you are. You're just standing there and your whole system is pushing lymph out, and that's great. The biggest problem, honestly, folks with whole body vibration and lymphatic drainage is doing too much and getting a too big a detox. You know, like if you go in a sauna and you just stay there forever or something you do too much. Detoxing too fast can strain systems that are already under strain from too many toxins in your body.

Speaker 2:

So, you don't want to do too much, and one of the big things that I promote and push with vibration is to start slow and build up, because if you try to do too much too soon you can feel worse actually from a big, huge detox or too much stimulation of your body too soon, you can feel worse actually from a big huge detox or too much stimulation of your body too quickly.

Speaker 2:

So start slow, build up, use the right kind of material machine and work towards. This is where where'd you want to know how much you should do. Work up to doing 10 minutes at 30 to 35 Hertz at least once a day. That be wonderful, ideal. But I just also want to tell you so you don't feel like pressures, I have to increase so fast any vibration at all. You're going to get a huge detox. It is huge. So you just start slow and you watch how you feel. As long as you're feeling good over the next 24 hours, then you're doing it, then you're doing a good job and you're not doing too much. But if you detox, overload will not necessarily show up immediately. It might show up the next morning. So if you try to do 10 minutes the first day on a more powerful machine or setting and the next day you wake up and you feel horrible setting and the next day you wake up and you feel horrible.

Speaker 2:

You probably did too much vibration.

Speaker 1:

That's great to know. Yeah, I do have to bring this up because it seems like whole body.

Speaker 2:

Vibration is exploding right now. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

What is the difference of this vibration and other vibration plates, for example power plate or all this other one? What are the different types of vibration?

Speaker 2:

Okay, well, it's a big subject. There's a ton of different machines out there so I'm not going to go into too much detail, but there's a lot of different factors. There's the way that it moves. My machines are what's called vertical vibration and the whole plate moves in the same direction. A small amount, it's both and they go and it's fast.

Speaker 2:

It's kind of like a purring cat and it basically it's turning you into a purring cat. And keep in mind that cats have nine lives. Right, they're super strong, they can, their musculature is and whole system bones, muscles, joints, very, very strong. That's why they can. Actually it's not a myth they can fall from great heights and not get injured. Only cats purr and only cats have nine lives. They know now that it is actually the purring that makes them so strong.

Speaker 2:

So machine is turning you into a cat and if you do get injured, your testosterone and human growth hormones are also elevated when you're using vibration. So you heal from things that well, cats heal from things that would kill another animal. And when you're vibrating, with the right kind of vibration, you're raising human growth hormone and testosterone and you can heal much better. That's why I'm saying like physical therapy makes you stronger and you heal faster. All the athletes love this and everybody should be doing it, wow. So, as far as different machines oh my gosh, there's so many different ones and there's a lot of misinformation out there and confusion. Everybody's trying to get you to, you know, go with their machine, so they're trying to make it look like theirs is the kind that you need, but the truth is there's a lot of different kinds, and I go into it on my website.

Speaker 2:

There's a comparison section and it's in all my books. But you want the vertical vibration and some companies even miss. They rename their, their motion and call it vertical and it isn't vertical, it's something else. Um, so it can get very confusing out there, I know what is the dangers of getting those oscillating machines?

Speaker 2:

well, I I wouldn't so much say danger, I would just say that this type is the best, okay, and other types, they, some of them, I mean there are some kinds I really don't recommend because I do feel like they could hurt you. But oscillating machines a lot of people do get good effects and results from them and they do have benefits, but they're not as good, especially when it comes to being optimized for your brain and your neurological system and your energy field. And your neurological system and your energy field. With vertical vibration you want very smooth in order to go out of a stress reaction and a fight or flight and into sort of a more meditative state where your body relaxes and focuses on healing right, and it's also much faster, which gives you a more intense effect.

Speaker 2:

So it's smooth and fast, whereas oscillation I don't know if you can see me, but oscill so it's smooth and fast, whereas oscillation I don't know if you can see me, but oscillation it's like this, whereas one is like this. Oscillation is like this, with one foot on either end of a seesaw, so it's kind of a very wild motion, and because it's wilder, it has to run a lot, lot slower, which they try to make you not realize by by making an arbitrary scale for the speed and they call it one to a hundred, but it's not actually hertz, which is vibrations per second, and you're supposed to.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, it's very confusing but, um, but it makes a lot of sense to me, and I'm so glad glad that you explained that. And as soon as you started talking about the cat purring and what whole body vibration does to your whole body, the first thing that came to my mind was humming. You know what we do?

Speaker 2:

we hum a lot, so I wonder and chanting and all kinds of stuff, right, right, absolutely kinds of stuff, right, right, absolutely.

Speaker 1:

I wonder if it has a lot to do with that, because there's so much research and there are so much study, so many studies in our field talking about uh, humming, how beneficial is your overall health? Oh, that's fascinating. I mean release of nitric oxide.

Speaker 2:

That's creating a vibration in your mouth.

Speaker 1:

It's similar in your nose and so very important. If you were doing whole body vibration there, I wonder if you keep your tongue up in your palate and you actually are getting that vibration in your nose, if you will mimic humming well renata, guess what.

Speaker 2:

So when you're on the right kind of plate and you try to speak or, let's say, sing, you have instant vibrato. Yes, the whole area is vibrating because that's a stronger vibration and some of my machines have two settings so you can start really slow which is good for people who need that and build on the higher setting, and the other machine has that higher setting. The vibration travels all the way through your whole body your head is vibrating, your eyeballs are vibrating and your tongue and your whole interior system. So when you sing or speak, instant vibrato that is so interesting.

Speaker 1:

Uh, some other ways that we can relate whole body vibration to what we do with myofunctional therapy. Of course we're working with orophacial muscles and most of them are lower tone, but you can't just work here and ignore the whole body, right? It's one person and many, many of our patients do have whole body low tone. I'm just thinking about the benefits of having a myofunctional therapy patient use whole body vibration. How can that affect the whole muscle, all the muscles in their body?

Speaker 2:

You know, renata. Okay, so whole body vibration became famous because of the workout effect initially and the bone density, because it's increasing bone density, sending signals to help. But anyway, so it's very famous for this particular thing that 10 minutes working out on a machine, using the right system, will give you the benefits of an hour of conventional weight training. Okay, it intensifies any kind of workout that you're doing. So if you have and I think you do have like exercises people should do to help their uh, oral, facial muscles, whatever, yeah, um, doing them on your vibration machine is going to make them much more effective. You are going to get the results faster, more intensely. Yes, and it's not like it exhausts you, because you're also increasing human growth hormone, which helps you regenerate faster, and somehow it I mean honestly like if you're doing a squat and in a position where your muscles have to hold your body weight, it can be tiring after just 30, position where your muscles have to hold your body weight.

Speaker 2:

It can be tiring after just 30, 30 seconds, but I don't think it'd be quite the same with your like doing mouth exercises, because your tongue doesn't weigh a whole lot and I don't think that you run into a huge problem.

Speaker 1:

No, and the facial muscles, the way that the muscle fibers of the orophageal complex are they're different than muscle fibers from the rest of your body that they can handle a lot more. I mean, we're speaking all day long, we're eating, we're, you know, we're moving these muscles, so we can handle fatigue a lot more than the rest of our body.

Speaker 2:

Really interesting point actually is they talk about how, with vibration, that you very rapidly will get greater activation of muscle fibers. Like, more muscle fibers will activate when you tell your muscles to do something. And the reason is because when you're vibrating, every muscle fiber and every neuron in your body is activated. So normally, let's say, you're doing a squat, only like 50% of your muscle fibers in your legs are activated and uh, whereas with the vibration, a hundred percent of them and all your neurons are going to fire, which which, uh, leads them to sort of grow and make more connections to more muscle fibers so that when you um, you know, purposely activate your muscles, they will respond greater. And that happens within three weeks. So people athletes will notice that they get a bump in their strength, one right away, because you're getting increased hormones and energy, and that can be a very big bump right away. But also later on your neurons are growing and connecting and activating more muscle fibers when you call on your muscles to work.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my goodness, well I'm going down the line. Somebody recently asked over here if he helps you lose weight, so you mentioned that a little bit, how it could benefit somebody looking for that, let's see. Oh, I have a great question. Can this be used for dogs? I have a 60 pound dog that has hip issues. Can he benefit?

Speaker 2:

Absolutely Whole body. Vibration is phenomenal, first of all for arthritis and all kinds of joint problems and use properly, pain levels can drop and inflammation levels can drop, sometimes very quickly. So I see that with people all the time and I do see it with animals. When people put them on there, you can get that it's pretty much the same thing and in fact actually they make these massive, huge plates which probably cost a total mint for horses, race horses. They are using that like they sink it in the ground, they have the horse walk over it and and stand on there the race horses and they get physical therapy and muscle strengthening and joint problems healing and uh yeah, so absolutely it's the same thing for the dogs as it is with people. That is fantastic and some animals love it. I have pictures People have sent me pictures of like there are three cats twining around on them while they're standing on the vibration plate in their pajamas. Wow, oh my God. Another one said her cat wakes her up in the morning because he wants to do his vibration.

Speaker 1:

That is so interesting. Oh, my goodness, let me see we have some more questions over here. Those are already answered. What is the minimal age to?

Speaker 2:

use. Ok, good question. So yesterday, a couple of days ago, somebody was just emailing me or called me on the phone. They were all thrilled that their two year old loves the vibration. So I usually tell people to be a little bit, you know, cautious and careful with kids. Usually kids love vibration. They don't have like you know. Occasionally you get an adult who gets on there and it's different. Suddenly your head's vibrating Right and they'll be like oh, what is that? I don't like it. You know what is that? Strange, weird thing. But kids, they just start laughing hysterically.

Speaker 1:

They're just like whoa, what is that? I love it and I love it.

Speaker 2:

So little kids. I would recommend start with holding them in your arms, so you're a big buffer and they don't get too much, especially like infants. For sure, hold them in your arms, they'll hardly get anything, and start with a really low setting. See how they respond. There's nothing intrinsically bad about it, but, you know, just be careful. I wouldn't put an infant directly on the plate. That would very, very good. How about?

Speaker 1:

sitting down. Can you sit down on the plate safely? Oh, absolutely.

Speaker 2:

Again the down Can you sit down on the plate safely? Oh, absolutely, again, the right kind of plate.

Speaker 2:

Always using the right kind. But yeah, absolutely Sitting on it is fine. A lot of people do and a lot of exercises are, because I have a poster with you can. There's over 50 different exercise positions that'll target different muscle groups In order to get like the workout. You want'll target different muscle groups In order to get like the workout. You want to target different muscle groups by changing your position on the machine right so to do legs. There's like variations of squats and abdominal muscles. You're often sort of sitting in a V shape with your butt on the plate and you're holding your body in that V shape. That's a big abdominal workout. You can do lots of arm exercises where your hands are on the plate and your feet are off it like a pushup right.

Speaker 2:

And it's all pretty intense. On a higher setting you do get strong, faster, and what's it going to say something? Oh, there's like a number of reasons why it's so intense as a workout. Oh, there's like a number of reasons why it's so intense as a workout. One 100% of your muscle fibers are firing. Two they're firing at the same rate. The machine is vibrating, and what I recommend is a machine that runs 26 to 45 or somewhere you want to build up to being around 30 to 35 hertz.

Speaker 2:

So that means there's like two to three thousand little tiny reps in a minute, right, but reps increase it and they're small but it adds up for sure. And then also the other reason it's so intense is because there's sort of physics equations that prove. There's physics thing that shows that you're holding two to three times because of gravity and acceleration. You end up holding two to three times your body weight against the vibration. Wow, so your muscles, whatever muscles you've targeted to hold your body weight like a squat, your legs are holding two to three times your body weight against the vibration. Like, think of it for a quick visual. Think of a guy with a jackhammer and the arm muscles. They have hard to hold weight against vibration. Like, think of it for a quick visual. Think of a guy with a jackhammer and the arm muscles. They have Hard work to hold weight against vibration. Now, don't worry, these machines are way smoother than a jackhammer, you're not going to feel like you're on a jackhammer.

Speaker 2:

You're a purring cat, very happy Purring cat.

Speaker 1:

I love that. Let's see how. Do you use it? How, and are there certain settings that provide different benefits?

Speaker 2:

Yes, Well, below 30 to 35 hertz is sort of warming up, stretching, getting used to the machine, like building up. Like I recommend, start lower. Do your workout, you know, every day, increasing in a sort of slow manner. 30 to 35 is considered the best, most effective for muscle and bone. Like your muscles respond best to that speed of vibration, of tensing and relaxing syncing. Above 35 hertz you're starting to get into better for your neurological, like optimizing for neurological and energy field. So the higher speeds can be really great for your neurological system and your energy field. And actually there's some fascinating research about really high frequency vibration and diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. So there's a huge field opening up here of what vibration can do for you.

Speaker 1:

Do you have any more info on Alzheimer's, how it can be beneficial?

Speaker 2:

I don't think it's. Certainly there's research on how it can help. I don't know if there's a lot of vibration. What we've seen is that exercise. It's very well proven that exercise is basically the best thing you can do for your brain because, it creates a massive stimulation of your brain when you're running or whatever.

Speaker 2:

Huge surge of neurological signals going into your brain, lighting your brain up, stimulating it. And vibration is exercise on steroids and much bigger stimulation of your brain because every neuron in your body is firing at the rate it's vibrating which is 20 to 50 times per second Massive neurological stimulation and your brain responds well to that, as long as it's sort of a very coherent message into your brain. So there is research showing also that synchronizing brain waves can be very beneficial for your brain and help feel things and help your your thought processes and creativity and memory and all of that. So I really promote using a kind of vibration that is synchronizing your brainwaves. I think that's very important yeah.

Speaker 1:

That goes right into the next question. The reason why I mentioned Alzheimer's is because the lack of deep sleep could potentially cause Alzheimer's disease, and it does say over here that whole body vibration raises serotonin levels in the brain, improving mood and sleep. How else is it related to sleep?

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, that's a big one because it does raise serotonin levels, which is your major antidepressant neurotransmitter, natural neurotransmitter. It's the one that all the antidepressant drugs target. So that's a huge benefit for both during the day when you're awake, and when you're trying to sleep. So it's great for that and you know it's very relaxing and it helps you be in a more calm down and be both activate, stimulate and calm down the right kind of vibration, you know, because it is definitely lighting up your brain and helping release neurotransmitters that give you energy and help you think, your brain think. But it can sort of help move you into a more meditative state, a slower brainwave state that is more conducive for falling asleep, and I had.

Speaker 2:

I remember I had a person send me an email about how she got her machine and she just loved it. She'd do it at night and it was like better than a sauna and better than like what was it A? Hot tub and a glass of wine or similar to a hot tub and a glass of wine oh, my goodness.

Speaker 2:

That's all I will say, though you know some people, you, you want to kind of experiment a little bit with it and how you react to it because, like I said, it can be very, very stimulating. And I had another guy who I used to do uh classes, adult education classes, and we go to the school and I had this like 45 year old, maybe 50 year old guy and he would get on the machine for five minutes it's like seven o'clock at night and then he'd, honestly, he would be running around circles in the in the classroom going oh my god, it's like I just did drugs that's so funny.

Speaker 1:

Somebody said it pretty hilarious we got the vibration plate to activate the vagus nerve for calming the nervous system. When my nine-year-old friend came over, they all ran to the vibration machine. They all loved it. Our pit bull too. There you go, thank you guys.

Speaker 2:

Let's see what else that's cool.

Speaker 1:

Oh, this is a great question. Thank you, guys. Let's see what else. That's cool. Oh, this is a great question.

Speaker 2:

Does. A rebounder or a trampoline works about the same way as these vibration plates. Okay, there's some similarities and you know it is a vibration but it's much slower. So when you're looking for that higher intensity, the vibration is going to be much more intense on a lot of levels. But rebounders are great and especially sort of used together. Rebounder as sort of the aerobic exercise is fantastic and then the vibration because it's working on.

Speaker 1:

It's so intense a vibration and you get a different effect.

Speaker 2:

Wow, uh, can you do it daily? Oh, absolutely, you should do it daily. Yes, absolutely perfect.

Speaker 1:

Are there any contraindications?

Speaker 2:

that depends again on the machine a little bit, but yes, absolutely so. One of the there's a kind of vibration called low intensity vibration and it is the same vertical vibration, but the amplitude is so tiny that you really only feel it in your feet when you're standing on the machine. It is super, super gentle, it can run faster and it can be therapeutic for helping a number of quite a lot of things help lower pain and inflammation and have effects throughout your body because you're it is sending signals to your brain and your energy field and affecting hormones and neurotransmitters, etc. But uh, it has almost no contraindications because it's so extremely gentle. On the other hand, higher amplitude and more powerful machines, there are quite a number of things you should be very careful with and some that you shouldn't do it at all.

Speaker 2:

So examples of things you should not do a stronger vibration with would be acute migraines like that bad of migraines really tiny ones, small, occasional, controlled you can probably do really gentle, and it might help, because there's a whole bunch of things actually that if you do it right it might be able to help. But you got to do it carefully. And I call those relative contraindications you can find a list of them on my website and in my books and then there's absolute contraindications. So broken bones, well, obvious. Pregnancy, pregnancy Okay, it's listed typically as don't do it, but that's in a way, more of a legal issue because, you want to be so careful with it.

Speaker 2:

There's no reason. It's a problem for people who are having a healthy pregnancy and, interestingly, there was some research about how it could help you conceive, increase um pregnancy, getting pregnant chances. So for people who are having problems, what else?

Speaker 1:

we have a joint blade. Oh, tell me about vertigo.

Speaker 2:

Don't use it with vertigo, that's a big contraindication.

Speaker 1:

Is it suggested to stand on it in a very relaxed state or should one have muscles activated similar to tensing muscles during resistance exercises?

Speaker 2:

Depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you want the workout effect, yeah, you should be working out and having tight muscles, right, activated muscles. If you are trying to de-stress or work on brain issues, there's nothing wrong at all, even bone density. Honestly, just stand up straight on the machine and in fact, just standing up straight is a great way to help the bone density, because then the vibration will travel through your skeletal system more effectively. And if you bend your knees, if you are doing like a squat right, your legs are working like shock absorbers and the vibration won't really get past your, say, hips and you want it in your back. If you're worried about bone density, because it is, the vibration is fantastic for bone density for a number of reasons. Oh, my God, you want to hear something really cool about like losing weight and building bone. So they have actually shown research now where it's causing stem cells in your bones right To turn into, um, bone building cells. Because stem cells are they. They can grow into any.

Speaker 2:

they're like the magic cell that can go anywhere and become anything yeah and with vibration your body is guided to turn those stem cells into bone building cells instead of into fat cells. Wow, so it's like a double whammy, wow. And you get increased levels of stem cells by huge amounts. They did military did this research study. They showed that vibration alone they were comparing sort of vibration and exercise and effects on stem cells and vibration though exercise alone, you got a 20% increase in circulating stem cells going all around in your body to heal your body. And vibration alone you've got a 30% increase in stem cells going all over your body, even if you just stood there. Wow. And exercise plus vibration, which is what is recommended for almost everything you know you want to lose weight exercise as well as vibrate you want to.

Speaker 2:

Whatever 40% increase in circulating stem cells going all over your body. Plus, you got your human growth hormone going up, so the healing properties are just enormous.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh. Well, I know everybody's asking right now how do I get one and where do I get one, and do we have a discount code?

Speaker 2:

Yes, we do. You have your own discount code so all of your people can get a special discount when they go to my website and I believe you're going to be posting my website and the discount, which will be my 010, because it's a 10% off the machines that selected machines, so you can. There's a number of different machines on my website and I particularly was focusing on trying to bring people the best vibration for a reasonable price that they could afford. You know a good price that? Because I want to get everybody in the whole world vibrating.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and Becky, I did a lot of research. And, becky, I did a lot of research. I spent hours and hours and hours researching everything that I could get my hands on about vibration before I decided to purchase one. And you're absolutely right, you are so far off any of the other companies or competitors out there because not only the quality, the price and the type of vibration out of this world. So if anybody's interested, I will post on stories, I'll post in the comments here. You guys just keep an eye out, but can you say your website for those who are listening?

Speaker 2:

It's BC from my initials, that's Becky Chambers, so BC. And then two words vibrant health, like your body, b, c, vibrant healthcom. And I particularly recommend two machines the ultimate vibe, which is a new one I have, and it's the one that has a low power and a high power and it's very affordable. A small light, it's just a great machine. And the power 1000, which is a big favorite and it's very affordable. Small light, it's just a great machine. And the Power 1000, which is a big favorite for many years. People love that machine. So there are two great great options for you there.

Speaker 1:

Perfect, and that's the one that I have. Oh, we have. Would it help somehow with bilateral acute facial palsy? So if somebody has completely lost, that's usually nerve damage. If somebody lost completely movement, if it's a motor nerve or sensory of the side, one side of the face, do you have any?

Speaker 2:

experience with.

Speaker 1:

I don't have experience with that, I can say I don't know much about that.

Speaker 2:

it is bilateral both sides. Yeah, I do know that. Um, you know they've done research with stroke victims. It has. It helps regenerate brain and they can get good results with, uh, people with like stroke victims. Um, so it is such a big stimulation of your nervous system and without any effort it is going to go through all areas stimulating the nerves and the muscles in the that area, which is what your body responds to stimulation.

Speaker 2:

That's a signal to use the that system and it responds typically by trying to use it and regenerate. Let me grow so maybe.

Speaker 1:

Yes, that would be interesting. I'd love to do some research on that. Um, somebody, we talked already a little bit about lymph drainage. Um, this is just before the vibration plate. What lymph drainage do you suggest before the vibration plate? The second question related to that is should you massage lymph nodes first for better results with lymph drainage?

Speaker 2:

You don't really need to do that at all. No, you don't have to do any lymph drainage before you get on the plate. You're going to get a massive dose of lymph drainage on your plate. What I might recommend is drinking water. You know things to help with detox overload because you might get more lymph drainage than you really were expecting. That's all prepared for. So I do have a little section in my books generally about what to do if you did too much detoxing. So you know drinking water resting. There's some supplements you can take to help absorb toxins in your body and get you past that. And then generally you want to slow down. Then the next time, you know, rest up, get feeling better.

Speaker 1:

And when you go back.

Speaker 2:

Don't think quite so much.

Speaker 1:

Perfect, we mentioned this earlier. Also, can you explain what are the effects that this has on muscle and fascia and how you help sleep disordered breathing patients? We talked a little bit about this before just me, and you and you mentioned muscle, but how about fascia?

Speaker 2:

So I think people use vibration for stretching a great deal and it is incredibly effective for stretching, which I think would be related right movement and greater, you know, ability in stretches and releasing a tight muscles and tight areas very quickly and powerfully. It's. It's remarkable how powerful it is on that level. It's like a vibration is amazing, because it is the only thing out there actually that both strengthens you, Cause it's's both remember it's tensing and relaxing um 20 to 50 times per second. Wow, so it's both intensely strengthening and relaxing and there's no other therapy that does.

Speaker 2:

That is what I've read that is so cool, although I just want to say that vibration works incredibly well along with all kinds of other natural health approaches. So I'm not saying don't do anything, just do vibration. No, no, no, no. Add it in to what you're already doing and be sure to do like nutrition and exercise, special exercises to target certain areas, and I highly recommend the homeopathy energy work.

Speaker 2:

That can really help things like Bell's palsy, sleep apnea, a number of, lots of things. Homeopathy is like the hidden jewel of healing that is so unknown but incredibly powerful.

Speaker 1:

I 100% agree. And the way that I can relate to sleep disorder, breathing, I feel like a lot of these. I'm just going to focus on children, but a lot of these children, you know, whenever you cannot sleep well, whenever you're not breathing well, increases cortisol levels and we all know that these kids with increased cortisol, they're running all over the place, so their nervous system is dysregulated. And if you guys saw, when I posted a video of Benny the first time he got up on the plate, I couldn't believe it because all of a sudden his eyes just went focused and he was feeling his body and he's like what is this? And we're trying to talk to him and he's like don't talk to me. Right now I'm enjoying this, I'm trying to figure out what it is. It was such an interesting reaction. I'm so excited that I got it on video.

Speaker 1:

I'll post it on today if you guys want to see it so you have to skip in so many ways. Oh, my goodness, becky, I know that we could stay over here one more hour talking about everything whole body vibration. I just I love your energy and I love all the work that you're doing to help people fight inflammation and find a healthier way of being, so thank you for all of your work. Now I know you have several books. Can you talk about your books?

Speaker 2:

Okay, yeah, I got. The first one I did was whole body vibration the future of good health, and it just came out with a second edition which is all updated. I recommend that one particularly. And then I have two more second editions coming out. One is for this very popular book called whole body vibration for seniors. So you know, vibration is phenomenal for across the board, from really young people like you're working with to it's fantastic for older people, addresses all kinds of issues that they're typically running into inflammation, bone density, weight gain. You know just everything.

Speaker 2:

And then I wrote three other books to address sort of specific areas that are really important. One is whole body vibration for calming inflammation. So inflammation is affecting everything and all chronic health problems, and there's so much vibration itself lowers inflammation. They've showed all kinds of research about that and particularly interesting is they like showing that it helps balance your gut flora. It is. It's amazing, I am crazy, right, uh, so, and then in that book I just I give you all kinds of helpful on lowering inflammation, um, and then there's a whole body vibration for mental health. Um, and it is fabulous for mental health and mental health. This is sort of the connection with the energy your mental health is driving your energy, and your mental health is very powerfully affecting your whole physical body as well as you know, on just your life, your quality of life.

Speaker 2:

It's so huge and, trust me, I know I had a major chronic clinical depression for 30 years Was it Wow. Unbelievable. I was like, oh a mess. Well, it wasn't just physically ill, I was mentally a disaster and I am a. I'm great. I've been off of all the drugs and everything for 20 years or something now. Uh, not a problem. That's incredible.

Speaker 1:

I do want to to uh. Today I spoke to a functional medicine doctor, dr Ron. He's freaking incredible. He's from Houston and we were talking about spirituality and emotion and how important it is. You know, we have so many of these patients come to us, especially young women who have tried so many things, and they just feel awful. You know, physically, if you look at them clinically, they look fine but they don't feel good and they have just tried so many things. Fibromyalgia is another thing and I have heard that the pain that these people feel is so intense because it's not muscle pain, it's fascia pain and the interesting thing about fascia pain is that fascia holds emotion. So that goes back to and the vibration.

Speaker 1:

How calming that is to the body.

Speaker 2:

I wonder if it releases.

Speaker 1:

Uh, like you said, serotonin, it right, and and just those feel good hormones really interestingly, people who you know, some people can feel energy.

Speaker 2:

Yep, I, I'm not one of those lucky I am but, yeah, fantastic.

Speaker 2:

So some people can feel their chakras spinning, they can feel the energy going going through their energy meridians and usually when they stand on a vibration plate they'll be like, oh whoa, I can feel my chakra spinning and I can feel this. Oh, the energy's going over here to my shoulder injury I had years ago and it is absolutely working on an energy level. This is a really interesting thing too about how does that happen so fascinating? It's because the theory. It's a theory, okay, but it makes sense. So we're all crystals, we're liquid crystals, highly organized molecular structures, right, yeah, no argument there.

Speaker 2:

But all crystals have a physical property and any physicist or engineer can tell you this. All crystals have an ability to turn mechanical vibration which is what a vibration plate is into electromagnetic energy. That's how an LED screen works, apparently. So when you stand on a vibration plate, your body is instantly turning that mechanical vibration into the electromagnetic energy frequencies that you need. Wow, that's why it's shooting around to your particular areas that you need it. Wow, that's why it's shooting around to your particular areas that you need it.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my God, isn't that incredible.

Speaker 2:

It is absolutely.

Speaker 1:

I'm so in love with this and thank you, thank you again for everything you're doing for this field. Thanks for hanging out with us today and trying to figure out as we do our first podcast episode of the Beauty of the Week, so thank you everyone. All of Becca's information is going to also be on the show notes, so look for that. And thank you, becky, I cannot wait to keep working with you and learning more from you.

Speaker 2:

Thank you all. It was a pleasure to be here, just wonderful. I'm so thrilled to be here.

Speaker 1:

All right, bye everybody. Make sure to follow Becky. All right, bye-bye.
